Sunday of the Word
22 January 2023We are in the Week of Prayer for the Unity of the Christians, together with the whole Church, with the ecumenical assembly of the Christian churches and at the center of this week today 22nd of January the III Sunday of the ordinary time we celebrate the Sunday of the Word. The invitation and Isaiah resounds as program of these days: “Learn to do good and seek justice” (Is 1:17)!
The Word of God is always living and active because it is Christ himself who speaks to the Church today. He is the Word that illuminates the past and the present; and He is the Word that launches us into the future with confidence. In his Word, we were born and we “become” as Claretian sisters.
All the Scriptures speak of Christ, said St. Jerome. We can also say that they speak of our history as a history of salvation and of its proclamation. We need the Word of God to go “Into deep sea” of its profound spirit. Do we carry it in our bundles of daily journey? Whether on paper, patient and always available, be it in digital version with the ease of access… Let the Table of the Word be the place where we feed ourselves every day
