Last Supper: Betrayal of the Disciple and Faithfulness of God

16 April 2025

These two opposing realities highlight the importance of trust and loyalty in human relationships, as well as in our relationship with God. We often fall into betrayal and denial, yet God remains faithful, and His love never fails.

Jesus remained faithful to His mission and continued to love and serve His disciples at all costs, even knowing the betrayal and denial of those He called friends. We, too, may experience betrayal and heartbreak, feel denied, and struggle to serve with love as Jesus did.

Yes, we are all weak and unclean; therefore, this is the time to let Jesus wash our feet, to cleanse us from broken relationships, selfishness, and acts of denial and betrayal, so that we may come to understand what He has done for us.

May Jesus grant us the grace to faithfully follow His example and “wash one another’s feet” as an act of love.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
