Happy missionary month!

Today, October 1st, the missionary month begins. A time that wants to nourish the universal fraternity of the Church, the communion of all the Christian communities scattered throughout the world, the commitment of solidarity with the Churches living in the poorest and most persecuted countries and the deepening of the missionary call, personal and communitarian, in the Church and in the world.

The message for the world missionary day exhorts us to be witnesses and prophets in the style of the apostles and the first Christians, with the same courage with which Peter and John, in front of the elders and the people, say without fear: “We cannot but speak about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 20). An invitation to take charge, “till death” we, claretian sisters, would say, to make known the God of Jesus who convokes, transforms and sends.

And for each one of the Claretian Sisters I wish that the prophetic and missionary spirit of París and Claret help us to discover that “To be on mission is to be willing to think as Christ does, to believe with him that those around us are also my brothers and sisters” (Pope Francis’ message for World Mission Day 2021)
