Constitutions: Maintaining Fidelity to the Founding Charism
3 July 2025The 4th of July is a very significant day for the Claretian Missionary Sisters, as we celebrate the approval of the Constitutions of the Congregation, a fundamental moment in its history and charismatic identity.
As a charismatic family, we unite in thanksgiving for the gift of our Constitutions. In them we recognise not only a normative text but a light that guides our journey, a living expression of the charism received by Maria Antonia Paris and Saint Anthony Mary Claret.
The Constitutions are memory and prophecy: memory of the founding dream that gave birth to our Institute and prophecy that impels us to live with creative fidelity our evangelising mission in the midst of today’s world.
Through their words we are called to incarnate an evangelical way of life, to live in communion, in poverty and missionary obedience, with a dedication that is born of love and renewed each day through attentive listening to the Word. To celebrate this day is to renew our commitment. It is to look back to our origins and open ourselves to the new things that the Spirit continues to stir up in our history, aware that fidelity to this legacy is the responsibility of each and every one of us.
Thank you, Lord, for giving us a way of life that is a light and a guide on our journey!
