Hope as an anchor for the soul

29 September 2025

The two communities of Claretian Missionaries in Rome, Villa Claret and the Generalate community, gathered in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, 28 September 2025, at 5:00 p.m., to make the pilgrimage on the occasion of the Jubilee. This pilgrimage, which included passing through the Holy Door, was a moment of union among us, in which, feeling as one heart and one soul, we kept in mind all the Claretian Missionaries of the world and our families.

We participated in this journey of hope together with thousands of pilgrims, in a spirit of prayer and contemplation, especially when crossing and touching the Holy Door. We walked singing and praying, and each one participated by carrying the Jubilee cross to the altar of St. Peter’s Basilica.

As pilgrims of hope, we truly believe that ‘we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure’ (cf. Hebrews 6:19), and we are happy to share this moment of prayer at the Holy Door with a family from Sicily, a married couple and a young man from Spain. This shows that faith and hope have no walls or borders, but unite us despite our differences.

The Jubilee Cross and the Holy Door remind us that we must place our hearts in God’s mercy and forgiveness. To Him we entrust our entire Congregation!

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
