Listening, Fasting and Walking in Hope
18 February 2026Today, Ash Wednesday, we begin the season of Lent: a journey of conversion and hope that leads us toward Easter, a renewed opportunity to turn our hearts back to God and to strengthen our fraternal and missionary life.
In his message for this season, Pope Leo XIV encourages us to live Lent marked by deep listening, a transforming fast, and concrete charity. He reminds us of the beauty of a fast that creates space for God and for our brothers and sisters, that nurtures words which build up and gestures that sow reconciliation.
May this time of grace help us to walk together with open hearts, attentive to the Word and close to those most in need of comfort and hope. May every small act of love become a light that proclaims the joy of the Resurrection.
