“Missionaries of Hope among the Peoples”
1 October 2025With joy we celebrate Missionary October 2025, a special time in which the Church invites us to renew our missionary vocation and to live with hope the call to proclaim the Gospel.
This year, enlightened by the charism of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, tireless apostle of the Gospel and founder animated by a burning missionary spirit, we embrace the theme proposed by Pope Francis for the 99th World Mission Sunday: “Missionaries of hope among the peoples”.
The Pope reminds us of the importance of following Christ, the source of our hope, of being bearers of that hope by sharing life with others, especially the most vulnerable, and of renewing this mission through prayer, the sacraments, and fraternal communion.
In a time marked by conflicts and fears, we are called to bear witness that Christian hope does not disappoint, for it is rooted in the love of God who triumphs over evil. This same missionary impulse inspired Saint Anthony Mary Claret, who declared: “What I would really like to do would be to walk through towns and villages, giving missions”. (Aut. 638)
For us, Claretian Missionary Sisters, this is an invitation to rekindle the missionary flame, sustained by prayer and the example of María Antonia París, who, with complete trust in God and prophetic courage, showed us the path of evangelizing transformation.
May this Missionary Month find us as “people of spring”, capable of sowing hope and radiating the joy of the Gospel. We entrust our journey to Mary, Queen of Missions, and we renew with enthusiasm the mission of “burning with charity”.
