Perpetual Profession of Thai Thi Phuc
6 October 2025With joy and excitement, we share with you this response to the Lord’s call, which echoes Mary’s ‘Yes.’
On 2 October, we gathered in the chapel for an evening prayer vigil to pray and intercede for Thai Thi Phuc, who the following day would publicly profess her fidelity and commitment to follow Christ with her ‘Yes’ forever.
May I love you and make you loved… may I serve you and make you serve…
It was a time to pray for her and for the vocation of all, allowing ourselves to be enveloped by the Spirit. We listened to her own testimony and her thanksgiving.
We ended our prayer by asking that we all seek together to make the journey easier and help each other to make the Gospel transparent to the world.
Day 3 arrived, everything was ready, the choir, the chapel decorations prepared with much detail, and the guests, and of course the Claretian community, accompanied by Jolanta K., Provincial Superior of Europe, and Lucyna from the Provincial Council, María Carmen M. and Ángela from the community of Julián Hernández, and Linh from the community of Granada.
We began the Eucharist with the entrance procession of the entire community and the five priests who concelebrated.
After the proclamation of the readings, the celebrant, Father Álvaro Alemany Briz, S.J., spoke about what it means to be faithful in good times and in not-so-good times, living each day from the perspective of faith, trusting in God that we are never alone. After the homily, the choir sang the litanies, and we all felt strengthened by the prayers of so many saints praying for us…
The central moment of the celebration arrived. Phuc, very serene, pronounced the formula of profession, and Jolanta received her vows. We heard clearly what our mission is: to follow in the footsteps of Christ our good, in imitation of the apostles… working for the renewal of the Church, in Poverty, Obedience and Chastity.
Before ending the celebration, Phuc gave thanks for her vocation, because she has always felt God’s faithfulness in her life, for the Congregation that welcomes her, for the sisters and all the people who have accompanied her on her vocational journey, and for her parents who are very close to her even from a distance.
We give thanks for Phuc for her response, her witness of fidelity and dedication. This is a historic moment for the community of Carcaixent in this year in which it celebrates the 150th anniversary of its foundation.
We give thanks to God for so much goodness.
