The first stage of the canonical and financial visitation concludes in Humahuaca, between pastoral mission and charity

From June 22 to 27, Priscilla and Lidia carried out the canonical and general financial visitation to the community of Humahuaca, Argentina.

Reaching Humahuaca involves traveling along a breathtaking road, with multicolored mountains lining both sides, a landscape that immediately draws one’s heart into the presence of God.

The four sisters in Humahuaca form an intergenerational and intercultural missionary community serving both the Prelature and parish pastoral ministries. They evangelize in a variety of pastoral settings, both in the urban area and in the surrounding rural communities. They also have a significant social impact through their management of the House of Charity, which provides temporary accommodation for people coming from the countryside and operates a community kitchen that welcomes each day the most vulnerable members of the local community.

It was a beautiful experience to witness the affection, appreciation, and gratitude that the people express toward the sisters. Through their simple, approachable, and generous presence, they accompany people in their daily lives and become a true sign of hope in every group and every setting where they serve. At the same time, one can sense the living and grateful memory of the many Claretian Sisters who, over the years, have served at the House of Charity, leaving a profound mark on the lives of all those they have encountered along the way.

During these days, Priscilla and Lidia met with all the groups connected to the sisters’ ministry and also visited the families of the Claretian Sisters who are natives of Humahuaca. They also traveled to La Quiaca to spend time with the Claretian Missionaries’ community, sharing a moment of fraternal dialogue and a genuine experience of family. It was a grace-filled encounter marked by the special presence of the Holy Spirit, which inspired a renewed desire to continue walking together as the Claretian Family.

With this community, Priscilla and Lidia conclude the first part of the canonical visitation to Latin America. They will return in October to visit the remaining three countries.
