Walking Together to Illuminate the Future: Echoes and Hope at the Conclusion of the Canonical Visit to the Province of Europe

13 March 2026

The Canonical Visit to the Province of Europe has come to its conclusion, leaving behind a shared journey of listening, discernment, and communion. On March 7, Priscilla Latela, Superior General, and Amilbia Penagos, Prefect of Formation, brought this time of encounter with the communities of the Province to a close.

As the culmination of this process, on March 9 and 10 the sisters of the General Team and the Provincial Government of Europe met at the General Curia in Rome to share the reflections that had emerged throughout the visit, according to the criteria of triple sustainability: relational, spiritual/charismatic/apostolic, and economic. It was a time to contemplate the many signs of life that animate the mission of the Province, as well as the challenges that open new horizons for further searching.

The meeting unfolded in an atmosphere of deep fraternity. Prayer, sincere dialogue, and the sharing of experiences made it possible to gather together the fruits of these months of visitation. It was a privileged space to look at reality with gratitude, to contemplate opportunities, and to glimpse new paths that may help promote missionary transformation.

Throughout the encounter, a spirit of communion was palpable, reflecting the desire to continue building a missionary life that is ever more evangelical and available in service to the Church, in communion with the congregational body and in fidelity to the received charism.

We express our special gratitude to the sisters of the Provincial Government of Europe for their generosity, dedication, and openness during this time of shared reflection. Our gratitude also extends to all the sisters of the Province, who during these three months welcomed each visit with closeness and hospitality.

We entrust the fruits of this journey to Mary, our Mother, that she may continue to accompany each community with her tenderness and protection, and help us keep walking together with courage and hope in service of the mission.
