“We are witnesses”: participation in the Second Assembly of the Diocese of Granada
3 July 2026On June 20, the formation community of the intercultural novitiate–Casa Teresita attended the second assembly of the Diocese of Granada under the theme “We are witnesses” (Acts 1:8). The faithful from all parishes, various communities, religious men and women, lay movements, and seminarians of the Diocese of Granada took part in this gathering. During this event, we joined the Lay Claretians (a lay movement of the Claretian Family).
Before the assembly began, we were able to greet the Archbishop of Granada, Mons. José María Gil Tamayo, as well as some friends from different countries and communities. The event was divided into three moments: listening, discernment, and journeying, and in each part there were interviews with different communities and families about how they live their mission in their parishes and religious communities. The assembly also included some animations that brought a joyful touch to all participants.
Through this assembly, and with the help of technology, we participated in the voting on the pastoral plan of the Diocese of Granada for one year. Three areas of work were presented for the Diocese of Granada. The assembly concluded with the Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by the Archbishop of Granada and several priests from different parishes. After Mass, we shared lunch together. This gathering helps us to learn more about the mission of the Diocese of Granada, especially in the pastoral field, as well as to meet more people.
