XII International Day of Prayer and Reflection Against Human Trafficking
5 February 2026International prayer and reflection that took place at Santa Maria Di Trastevere at 17.30 Rome time, is an inclusive call for all, different walks of life are invited and fraternally welcomed notwithstanding the religious difference, culture and nation, because peace and dignity is a common call for all humanity. Peace begins with dignity: a global call to end human trafficking is the theme of the prayer. Peace and dignity are inseparable. “True peace is not just the absence of war but presence of Justice. The prayer begins with candlelight procession from outside the church in different colors representing the continents of the world. The prayer intentions were marked with the lighting of candles; Christian prayer lights the candle of peace, Candle of faith for survivors whose resilience inspires transformation accompanied with Quranic citation, candle of love with the readings of Hinduism, Candle of Justice with Jewish prayer and candle of hope with Buddhist reflection. St. Josphine Bakita is symbol of hope for every continent and tradition; her story affirms us that ending human trafficking is both moral and spiritual call.
Representing the whole congregation as expression of our solidarity with the victims of human trafficking and in support for the mission for humanity, our sisters from General house participated in this Global prayer with other groups of different Congregations, religions and other ecclesial organizations.
Justice and Peace For All
