A new field of mission

12 July 2024

In the month of June I have joined a new mission of Catholic Care for Children in Sri Lanka.  The goal of this mission is to improve the wellbeing of the children and to provide safety and nurturing family environment.

The mission of Catholic Care for Children International (CCCI) is to support Catholic Sisters worldwide in providing the best care possible for children, reducing recourse to institutional care and encouraging family-based care. In Sri Lanka, the women Religious associations, that is an umbrella body to all the Congregations working together to provide children the opportunity to grow up in a loving family.

As a consecrated woman inspired by the Gospel values, I accepted this new mission entering into the new reality, working  with different religious Congregations in order to facilitate children  through the organisation of Catholic care for Children in Sri Lanka.  I am gaining new knowledge  from  this  field and  it is the first experience for me  to work with other religious.  At present I am more involved in attending to the vulnerable children to reintegrate them to their families.

I am very grateful to the Congregation providing me this platform to work with other religious women to help the children through CCC in Sri Lanka.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
