Happy 175th Foundation Anniversary!

15 July 2024

“On July 16, 1849, after we had gathered together in the seminary with the approval of the bishop and the rector, we commenced our own Spiritual Exercises, which we followed with all exactness and fervour. Because July 16 is the Feast of the Holy Cross and of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, I based my first sermon on those words of the Psalm 23,4: “Your rod and your staff give me courage”, alluding to the devotion and confidence we should place in the Holy Cross and the Blessed Virgin Mary and applying it also to the project we were beginning.” Cf. Aut 490

The project which begun 175 years ago, continuing with the grace of God, rooted in Christ, Audacious in mission, responding to the new challenges, and open to universal mission according to the spirit and charism of Father Founder, St. Antony Mary Claret.  As he himself defines a missionary, “is a man on fire with charity, who spreads its flames wherever he goes, he desires mightily and strives by all means possible to set the whole world on fire with God’s love…”. Aut. 494

We Claretian Missionary Sisters join the Claretian Missionaries and celebrate this 175th anniversary of their birth in thanksgiving to the Lord.

As Claretian Missionary Sisters we have also received this same spirit and wish to continue to seek together as a Family to respond to the challenges of the world that presents to us.

                                                 Happy Feast to all!

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
