“Claretian Day” in D.R. Congo

9 August 2024

The day after the elections we had what we called a “Claretian Day”, in which participated the Claretian brothers, a large number of lay people and our collaborators from different communities.

We began the encounter with a prayer itinerary whose objective was to identify and share the lights found and the calls perceived in the text. We then divided into five groups, each with a questionnaire, to draw up an objective and lines of action based on the strategic plan of the Congregation.

In the afternoon, we received Father Mathew Vattamattam, Superior General of the Claretian Missionaries, accompanied by Father Jean-Baptiste Makilandi, Superior Delegate, as well as other Claretians, sisters from our different communities and lay people.

Priscilla, Superior General and Father Vattamattam, shared some words. Then Petronille, new Vicar Provincial and Agueda, new Provincial Secretary, presented the process of this third Provincial Chapter, from its preparation to that moment, as well as the new members of the government.

We closed the day with the celebration of the Eucharist, led by the Superior General cmf, and an agape, as a sign of fraternity and unity.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
