169 Years in the Footsteps of Christ

25 August 2024

169 years ago, Pope Pius IX gave permission for the foundation of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate Claretian Missionaries. The permit arrived in Santiago de Cuba on July 16, 1855, and on August 25 of the same year, the Archbishop of Cuba, Antonio María Claret, wrote and signed the DECREE with which the New Order that the Lord had asked María Antonia París was born, in 1842.

Today the Claretian Missionaries and all of us who walk together seek, like the first apostles, to follow the same path as the Master… like Him… to be in the same places where the Master is, where He walks… to follow in their footsteps and to point out their presence in our brothers and sisters, to care for each one’s vocation, global fraternity and our common home.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
