A Spirit of Welcome in Sasaima

30 May 2026

From May 21 to 26, Priscilla and Lidia carried out the canonical and general financial visitation of our community in Sasaima, Colombia.

The Sasaima community dedicates its time and energy to serving the Villa María Antonia París Spirituality Center, located amidst a beautiful natural landscape that invites encounters with God, silence, and contemplation. Their presence is a sign of welcome, attentive listening, and accompaniment for various groups, families, individuals, and religious communities in their search for God and growth in faith.

In addition, the community actively collaborates in parish life, especially through Christian initiation catechesis, the accompaniment of prayer groups, pastoral formation in safeguarding and prevention, and other pastoral ministries.

As was the case in the two previous communities visited in this country, an atmosphere of fraternity, hospitality, closeness, and communion was clearly experienced and felt.

There was also an opportunity to accompany a Prayer and Bible Study group during its retreat day in preparation for Pentecost. Likewise, the visit to the Bishop, Most Rev. Pedro Manuel Salamanca Mantilla, provided another opportunity to strengthen ties with the local Church, listen to its challenges, and renew our commitment to walking together.

It was also a joy to share fraternity with the lay people with whom we journey and carry out our daily mission, mutually enriching one another through our vocation and service.

With this visit, Priscilla and Lidia conclude their time in Colombia and set out for Bolivia, where the sisters of Guayaramerín are awaiting them.

We joyfully celebrate the Jubilee Year of the Venerable Servant of God María Teresita Albarracín, rediscovering each month her life, her message, and her joy.
