August 3. New General Council elected. Nuevo Consejo General

We have elected a new General Council!

The new General Council is composed by the following sisters:

First Consultant: Ana María Mandrile (Argentina of the Province of Latin America)
Second Consultant: Priscilla Latela (Italian of the Province of Europe)
Third Consultant: Amilbia Penagos Martínez (Colombian of the Province of Latin America)
Fourth Consultant: Petronille Mutungidimbu (Congolese of the Province of Africa)

The XVII General Chapter changed numbers 136 and 138 of the Constitutions to allow the Chapter to decide if the Secretary and Econome are part of the General Council or not. In the event they are not, the Chapter will choose an Econome and the Superior General will choose a Secretary with the consent of the Council. This Chapter decided that the Econome and Secretary should not be members of the Council, so in addition to the four Counselors, they will choose an Econome and the Superior General will choose a Secretary later on, with the Council’s consent.
