Canonical visit: Time of Grace and a Renewed Mission in the Community of Bosa
22 May 2026From May 13 to 20, Priscilla Latela, Superior General, and Lidia Alcántara Ivars, General Finance Officer, carried out the canonical and financial visitation to the community of elderly sisters in Bosa, Colombia.
These were beautiful days of fraternal and spiritual sharing with these sisters, who have a profound experience of faith, missionary passion, and a beautiful history dedicated to the service of the Gospel. In addition to the personal dialogues, together they renewed the meaning of the mission, vision, and congregational values, thereby strengthening the desire to remain faithful to our charism until the last day of our lives.
During these days, they also received the visit of Bishop Juan Carlos Barreto Barreto of the diocese, with whom they had a simple yet meaningful fraternal dialogue that allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the sociopolitical and ecclesial reality in which they are inserted. From the conversation emerged the importance of our presence in the diocese and the need to continue contributing to social transformation through education.
They also had the opportunity to share with the Claretian Missionaries present in the area, from the Claretian school, the parish, and the formation house. They even received the visit of Dario Carvajal, Provincial Superior of the Claretians, and Carlos Sánchez, General Prefect of Spirituality and Community Life.
It was, therefore, a very enriching and fraternal visit.
On the 21st, the sisters traveled to Sasaima to carry out the visitation to the last community in Colombia.
