CELEBRATING TERESITA ALBARRACÍN

25 March 2025

On 12 March 2025, the Reus community became a vibrant centre of spirituality and unity, making the motto of our sister, the servant of God, Teresita Albarracín, a reality: Always smile.

It was a day especially marked by the contemplation of the words of the prophet Jeremiah: ‘clay in the hands of the potter’ (Jeremiah 18:6). Feeling that we were the loving and transforming work of God, we did an exercise of abandonment in his loving hands, as Teresita used to do.

We lived a joyful feast, united in one heart and one family. Moreover, the celebration did not end on the 12th, since on Sunday 16th March all the young sisters in temporary vows gathered on the zoom platform for a space of prolonged prayer with the life and testimony of Teresita, shortening distances with faith and sisterhood. It was a time of deep connection, prayer and gratitude. The Gospel of Luke 18:15-17 reminded us to embrace the Kingdom of God with the trust of a child and invited us to open our hearts to the experiences of abandonment in God that Teresita experienced throughout her life.

It was interesting to hear testimonies from the junior sisters in formation in Reus, who have had the joy of visiting the place where Teresita made her novitiate and ended her earthly pilgrimage at the age of 19 as a Junior Sister.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
