Continue taking steps…
30 April 2025We began the morning with the liturgy of Lauds and the Eucharist prepared by the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the feast of St. Catherine of Siena, Patroness of Europe, a mystical woman, with a great love for the Church and with proposals for discerning leadership in her time.
We continued the dynamic with Sara Ferreras who asked us to connect with the spirit we had the day before as a constellation, that experience moved us to express some echoes, no one can be left out and we asked ourselves, who or what are we excluding? What invisible walls do not let me pass, something or people? How much permission is there in the system to break walls and schemes?
Through questions, in which we did not let our mind speak so much, but our body, in an atmosphere of prayer, of listening, of connecting some members with others, we were confirming the vector lines that as a congregation we would have to work on during this time.
In the afternoon the general government presents us with several topics:
- The causes of the Beatification of Mª Antonia Paris and Teresita Albarracin and Canonization of Patrocinio Giner.
We connected with the two sisters responsible for this theme, Agnieszka and Theresia (Helmy), who told us the steps of the project for this year, the first thing to do was to get to know each other, to become familiar with the theme, to carry out a survey of the congregation with the hope that the Provinces would express what they need and finally, to offer us material for reflection and prayer for June 28, 2025, in which we celebrate 212 years of the birth of the Mother Foundress.
- Protocol for the care and prevention of abuse of minors and vulnerable people.
Beatriz Pereiro, General Prefect of Apostolic Mission, working in collaboration with Beatriz Salazar, gave us a tour of the process carried out on this issue in the Congregation since the elaboration of the manual and protocol in 2020. She informs us of the reading that has come out of the proposed form to know where each Province was located. She encourages us to raise awareness and to carry out the manual and protocol in each of our contexts, taking into account the regulations of the state and the Church.
- Project Office
Lidia Alcántara, General Finance Officer, shared with us in general terms the process of the Protocol of the project office, we had been sent to the provincial governments to give our opinion, and as we agreed with her, we continued to make it effective. Later, when we contracted it with reality, we thought of modifying something in the process to facilitate it. At the same time, Korima in the face of the situation that the projects had presented this year, the board of directors reflected, evaluated and proposed, on January 31, 2025 it sent a letter to the general government with proposals to adapt to the needs of the Congregation, these proposals the general government needs time to reflect and dialogue.
With the prayer of vespers in which the reality and challenges of the world were present, we ended the day.
