Grateful Remembrance of the Approval of Our Constitutions

Every July 4, we gratefully commemorate the pontifical approval of the Constitutions of our Congregation. This anniversary invites us to return to our roots and to renew our fidelity to the charism that the Lord entrusted to our Founders.

The Constitutions are not merely a juridical text; they are the living expression of our identity and the guide for our life and mission. They remind us that mission belongs to the very essence of our vocation and encourage us to evangelize with availability, creativity, and boldness, attentive to the signs of the times and ready to be sent “in any part of the world” (Const., no. 65).

On this day, the commitment embraced at the XVIII General Chapter resonates with particular strength: to walk with others, following “the footsteps of Christ our highest good, in imitation of the Apostles, teaching every creature the holy Law of the Lord and working for the renewal of the Church” (Const., no. 91). This commitment expresses the heart of our vocation and continues to inspire our consecrated life.

As we celebrate the 104th anniversary of the approval of our Constitutions, we give thanks to the Lord for the journey we have made and ask for the grace to continue living the Claretian charism with creative fidelity, as witnesses of the Gospel and signs of hope in the service of the Church and the world.
