Lent, a time of listening and grace

We enter the season of Lent, a time of grace in which we humbly plead the mercy of God.  Without taking this time as another season to pass by, let us look into ourselves and recognize the need of God, his compassion, and love. 

We are also invited to look around and extend the hand to our borthers and sisters who are in need. There are a lot of sufferings caused by violence, indifference, lack of freedom,  natural calamities… 

Today in his message, Pope Francis invites all of us to open eyes to see the reality. Just like God heard the cries of the Israelites in slavery, today too the cry of so many of our oppressed brothers and sisters rises to heaven. Let us ask ourselves: Do we hear that cry? Does it trouble us? Does it move us? 

Let us be little more sensitive to hear the cry of the poor around us.
