Listening to the Spirit and sowing fraternity: days of grace in Zafra

13 February 2026

From February 2 to 6, Priscilla and Amilbia continued their canonical visit in Europe. This time, in Zafra, Spain.

The community of Claretian Missionary Sisters is actively present in the educational center, Colegio María Inmaculada, and in various pastoral initiatives at the local Church level.

It was meaningful to participate in the Eucharistic celebration in Extremadura in honor of Saint Brigid, patroness of Zafra. This festivity, rich in significance, brought together the Christian community in an atmosphere of prayer and joy, and was enlivened by the choir and dance group “El Castellar.”

We visited Monsignor José Rodríguez Carballo, OFM, Bishop of Mérida-Badajoz, and shared about the current reality of the world and the Church, especially concerning consecrated life and the importance of listening to the Spirit to respond according to God’s plan.

At Colegio María Inmaculada, as a result of the various meetings with the faculty, the leadership team, and the students, we experienced closeness, simplicity, and a commitment to care for the quality of vocation and educational service, strengthening a sense of identity and belonging.

As a gesture and symbol of these days, we left an olive tree that will be planted with the participation of the entire Educational Community when the climate permits. This gesture represents the commitment to care for life, universal fraternity, our common home, and the desire to contribute to the missionary transformation we wish to live.

We remain united in prayer, with the commitment to live our identity in service of the mission, making present here and now the dream of Paris and of Claret.

We continue our journey, as pilgrims, visiting the communities of Paris and Claret in Granada.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
