Love for Christ Put into Action
17 August 2025The week began with a pilgrimage to three significant places in the life of Father Claret: Fussimanya (the Sanctuary of Mary, which Claret frequently visited with his sister Rosa to pray), Sallent (his birthplace), and Vic (where his remains rest). At each site, we dedicated time to prayer and reflection. In Sallent, at Father Claret’s birth home, we celebrated the Eucharist and gave thanks to God for his missionary zeal and his love for God’s people—a love that was expressed through action.
From August 12 to 16, Amilbia, the General Prefect of Formation, guided us with the theme “Love for Christ Put into Action,” drawing inspiration from the beautiful yet demanding missionary experience of both Founders on the island of Cuba. It was inspiring to read and discover how Claret and París, tireless missionaries, ignited by the love of Christ, worked faithfully to fulfil God’s will.
The readings on the spiritual relationship between the Founders enlightened us and helped us grow in love for them and for the mission we continue as the Congregation.
Moments of prayer, deep readings, sharing with the companion of Emmaus, and conversation in the spirit enriched our week.
We give thanks to God for our Founders and to Amilbia for her guidance and the richness of her reflections on the Founders’ mission. We also thank our Claretian Missionary brothers for accompanying us on the pilgrimage to Fussimanya, Sallent, and Vic.
