María Antonia París, Witness of Hope and Mission

16 January 2026

Today, January 17, we commemorate with gratitude the 141st anniversary of the Paschal passing of the Venerable María Antonia París, Foundress, together with Saint Anthony Mary Claret, of the Congregation of Claretian Missionary Sisters. As we remember her passing to the Father’s house, we give thanks for a life totally given to God, lived in fidelity, trust, and love for the Church.

The life of María Antonia was a journey of attentive listening to the Spirit, of obedience, and of trusting self-gift. Allowing herself to be transformed by God, she responded with courage to the challenges of her time and opened new paths for the mission. Even in the fragility of her final moments, her hope remained firm, sustained by a deep faith that continues to enlighten our journey today.

We have prepared for this celebration through the Triduum, which has invited us to renew our lives through a process of personal, communal, and missionary transformation. In the light of her witness, we are called to recreate the charism in the present, returning to the grace of baptism, strengthening shared life, and allowing ourselves to be sent once again on mission.

May the Paschal mystery of María Antonia París renew in us the desire to continue walking together, open to the action of the Spirit, with creative fidelity and active hope, so that our lives may be an announcement and a living witness of the Gospel in today’s world.

Happy Feast of Mother María Antonia París!

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
