«Peace for Gaza»

The Church, together with other entities and associations in Rome, is dedicating prayer meetings for peace in Gaza and the Holy Land from 22 to 25 September. We, as a community, have participated in  the Basilica of Santa Maria di Trastevere. A basilica filled with people from different cultures, countries, languages, and religions united by a common cause: peace.

Vespers prepared with great love and creativity introduced us to this space of prayer: chanted psalms, the homily on peace by prayer presider Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti and the words through videoconference from Gaza by Cardinal Pizzaballa, opened our hearts to pray continuously for the people who suffer because of war.

“Peace for Gaza” is the title of the initiative, easy to say, write and remember, but so difficult to carry out, attests the failure of international diplomacy.
