Saint Joseph, Model of Faith and Trust
19 March 2025Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, an example of humility, faith, and dedication to family.
In his autobiography, Saint Anthony Mary Claret recounts a spiritual experience that took place on May 7, 1865, the feast of the Patronage of St. Joseph, in which Jesus told him: “Jesus told me to be very devout to St. Joseph and to approach him with confidence” (Autobiography, n. 831).
Likewise, Mary Antonia París, a great devotee of Saint Joseph, experienced his intercession in times of difficulty. In 1875, when she and her sisters arrived in Carcagente, the construction of their new house was in trouble due to a lack of resources. Despite their efforts, the financial situation was dire. One day, a mysterious man delivered a bag filled with gold coins to Mother Antonia, who, upon seeing it, exclaimed: “Saint Joseph brings it to us” (Memories of Sister Joaquina of San Bernabé, 1885). No one knew who the man was, but the work could continue thanks to this miraculous intervention.
We are called to turn to Saint Joseph with full trust, knowing that he is a faithful protector and a powerful intercessor before God. May we, like him, always trust in God and follow His will, even in difficulties, living with faith, dedication, and humility, and manifesting true Christian strength through our silent daily actions.
