From September 1st to October 4th, the entire Christian family is invited to celebrate the great gift of creation, with spaces for celebrations and actions that make living in our common home more sustainable and at the same time have an impact on society.
Certainly our vocation to take care of life, to conceive it as a gift and a project of God (Cf DC 2017 n.17) is related to the commitment to generate balances among the different aspects of life: ecological, economic, social, educational, religious, political… assuming the responsibility to maintain the Earth in health and to protect its creatures that as the holy scripture affirms “are good things” (Cf Gn.1,31).
This year the theme of the “season of creation” is: “Jubilee for the Earth”. The time of the Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated on a global scale that we need a Jubilee that motivates us to restore the balance of all the systems needed to safeguard life, and to commit ourselves to new, righteous and sustainable lifestyles at the personal, community and pastoral levels, because everything is creatively interconnected.
May the Lord give us the certainty that He is the God of Creation (Cf. Aut.35 MF) and grant us to be aware in every moment of the love and care that He has for us from eternity (Cf. Aut.7 PF) making us His cooperators in the love and care of the brothers.
