The body and blood that nourishes us and gives us life
1 June 2024Today we celebrate the ultimate expression of the love of Jesus who gives us his body and blood. Every time we celebrate the Eucharist, we relive God’s unending desire to be in relationship with us.
As in Mark’s text, where the disciples go to prepare the Passover, they will find that Jesus has gone before them, because they will meet a man with a pitcher of water and the owner of the house, who has prepared a place to dine. True love is that, it is always ahead!
The Lord is always present in the Holy Eucharist from generation to generation, the nourishment of his body and blood gives us the possibility to live in total openness to the encounter with God and with each other.
We are invited to make this same love manifest to our brothers and sisters by sharing in his Body and Blood.
