The Intercultural Novitiate Begins in Granada
4 September 2026The long-awaited day finally arrived for four postulants as they entered the novitiate on 3 September, a significant date in the history of the Congregation, the day on which, 171 years ago, the companions of Maria Antonia Paris made their profession.
During Morning Prayer, the Rite of the initiation of the Novitiate was celebrated in an atmosphere that was both simple and solemn. With this meaningful celebration, the four postulants (three from Africa and one from East Asia) began their novitiate.
Priscilla Latela, Superior General, was present for this historic moment in the life of the Congregation, sharing with the intercultural formation community in the joy and significance of this new stage in the Congregation’s formation process.
In the evening, the Archbishop of Granada, José María Gil Tamayo, presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Claretian Sisters, members of the three branches of the Claretian Family, and other religious took part in the celebration, giving thanks to God and accompanying the new novices through their prayer and presence.
We give thanks to the Lord for this Kairos in the history of the Congregation. The beginning of the Intercultural Novitiate in Granada marks another significant step in our journey of formation, communion, and mission.
May this new intercultural community be a space where faith can deepen, vocations can be accompanied and mature, the charism can take root in each of the young women, and the Congregation’s missionary spirit can continue to grow and bear fruit.
With hearts full of gratitude, we entrust this new stage to the Lord, asking Him to accompany the novices and all those who walk alongside them throughout this journey of formation.
