Time of Creation 2026
13 September 2026“The sound of water is never just background noise.
It is one of the oldest prayers in creation.
Water has always spoken.
The question is whether we have learned to listen to it.”
We invite you to look back at the months of September and October, keeping in mind that the Church proposes to celebrate the SEASON OF CREATION. A month to reflect, pray and prepare ourselves internally to respond to the “cry of the earth and of the poor”
Pope Leo XIV, in his Message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, invites us once again to “contemplate the gift of life and to appreciate the earth that sustains it, as they are tangible ways of praising our Creator.” Our starting point, therefore, is contemplation. Action has its origin in contemplation. Transformation arises from the ability to see. To recognize life as a gift. To contemplate creation not simply as a collection of resources, but as something received, loved, and entrusted to our care. This is a beautiful form of praise, and it is also where ecological conversion takes root and is continually renewed.
This year, we walk under the image of water. Scripture reminds us to care for our hearts, because everything we do flows from it (cf. Prov 4:23). The living water that flows from Christ’s wounded side is more than a symbol of mercy: it is the source of love that renews hearts, restores relationships, and inspires us to care for our common home. Perhaps we can ask ourselves: What is welling up from my heart to the world? Care or Indifference? Hope or Discouragement? A desire for justice, peace, and communion?
Pope Leo XIV reminds us that ecological conversion begins within us, but it does not end there: it is called to flow outwards, transforming our way of living, of relating to others and of caring for our common home. Because before becoming a river that renews the world, Living Water begins by renewing our own hearts.
