To Restore the Global Compact on Education

2 July 2021

The OIEC has invited us to participate in a networking project motivated by Pope Francis’ call to restore the Global Compact on Education. The ultimate goal of the project is to formulate concrete keys for action to help transform the Catholic School and better respond to the current challenges it faces. To this end, 6 areas of work have been proposed in which each team formulates keys to action:

1.    New society, new education.

2.    The right to quality education: inequalities and disadvantaged people.

3.    Communication and positioning.

4.    Integral ecology.

5.    Economic sustainability.

6.    Educational community.

Three working sessions were proposed: 23 June, 30 June and 7 July. In the first meeting, a general presentation of the project was made and then a group work was carried out in which the participants were in tune with the area, mentioning what it means for each one, defining which needs of each area are a priority and pointing out key questions for action.

Lay claretians and claretian missionary sisters united in the educational mission are working in the area of “The right to quality education: inequalities and disadvantaged people”. We give a special thanks to Mirta Morales, a lay claretian woman with a long and special educational experience, currently secondary school principal in our school Padre Claret in Córdoba (Argentina) for taking on this networking work.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
