Unity, Purpose and Renewal: Sr. Geraldine Shares Her Experience at the 2025 Youth Jubilee
4 August 2025As part of the 2025 Youth Jubilee held in Rome, Sister Geraldine Sasirekah Eusabius, RMI, originally from Sri Lanka and currently on mission in India, shared her testimony in an interview with the International Union of Superiors General (UISG).
She participated as part of the Claretian Camino Youth Network, which brought together around 500 young people from various mission countries.
“Seeing the energy and joy of so many young people fills me with hope, not only for myself, but for the entire Church,” she affirmed.
For Sr. Geraldine, the Jubilee is a space of deep spiritual search, where young people from diverse cultures gather with a shared desire to find meaning, faith, and belonging.
“They are not just tourists, they are searching for purpose. Despite language barriers, they communicate beautifully and build unity.”
The experience has also been a source of personal and vocational renewal for her as a consecrated woman:
“Our vocations are renewed. We become aware of how deeply we are called to accompany young people, not only as future leaders, but as the present of the Church.”
She describes the Jubilee as a moment full of grace, a mirror reflecting her vocation, and a window into the Church’s hope for tomorrow.
