Walking together in the service of formation for mission

From 13 to 15 November, coinciding with the memorial of Blessed María Patrocinio Giner, patroness of the formators and superiors of the Congregation, the interprovincial meeting of superiors and prefects of formation was held at the novitiate house in Quezon City. Priscilla, Superior General, and Amilbia, General Prefect of Formation, led this gathering, which brought together three major entities of the Congregation: East Asia (Rizalyn and Hilde), South Asia (Rajani and Resilda), and the Mission Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Vivian and Chebita).

The objective was to broaden the Congregation’s perspective in the area of formation, to deepen the experience of accompanying together those in formation from different entities, and to plan the steps for those who will soon join this process.

Currently, the Province of East Asia has two young women from the South Asian Delegation to its novitiate and, as of a few days ago, a postulant who is about to begin her novitiate from the Mission Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

This meeting allowed us to strengthen bonds, review criteria, agree on best practices, and plan for the coming months of accompaniment. It was also a forum for discernment in which the community’s formation team participated, enriching the reflection with their daily experience.

We had the joy of sharing a fraternal space with Bishop Leo Dalmao CMF of the Diocese of Zamboanga.

We experienced days in which the centrality of the person, the importance of continuity in processes, and the need to move towards the congregational phase of the intercultural novitiate were reaffirmed, a sign of the formation journey that the Congregation dreams of and wishes to continue consolidating.
