World Day of the Poor

18 November 2023

On Sunday 19 November we will celebrate as a church the seventh World Day of the Poor.

This year, the Pope invites us to focus on the figure of Tobit, who teaches us how to act concretely with and for the poor. In one of his paragraphs he says: “…We are called to encounter every poor person and every kind of poverty, shaking off the indifference and banality with which we shield an illusory well-being…”.

Our founders had a very clear option for the poor. The witness of living poverty and living with the poor has marked our way of being church.

On this Sunday, we invite you, as Claretian Family, to join us in prayer, but above all in reflection and action as we go out to encounter poverty in its many forms of manifestation in today’s world.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
