A Universal Call
1 November 2025Today we celebrate all the saints, not only those well-known figures who appear on altars, but also that silent multitude of men and women who lived their faith in everyday life. They are the mothers who held on to hope, the workers who acted with justice, the young people who remained faithful, those who loved with simplicity, and those who forgave without being understood.
This feast reminds us that holiness is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a universal calling. It is possible to be holy within the community, in the midst of work, family life, and social commitment, wherever love is sown, peace is built, and life is lived with authenticity.
The Gospel of the Beatitudes shows us the way: holiness resembles meekness more than success, service more than recognition. To be holy is to let the love of God shine through our daily lives.
Today, as we look to the saints, especially Saint Anthony Mary Claret and the Venerable María Antonia París, we also recognize our own vocation as religious and lay people: to live the Gospel with joy, humility, and hope, knowing that holiness is woven by bringing the same simple gestures of Jesus each day to all those we meet along our path.
