A “Yes” That Continues to Give Life

171 years ago, on August 27, 1855, María Antonia París made her religious profession into the hands of Archbishop Antonio María Claret, bringing to fulfillment a journey she had long awaited and sought with deep longing. On that day, she experienced with profound joy the confirmation of her vocation and the mission entrusted to her by God.

In that experience, the Lord helped her understand the meaning of her total self-gift: “This, my daughter, is the weight of the reform of my Church that I place upon you” (RC 9). He also told her: “My daughter, from now on I want to dwell in the center of your heart.” This profound experience expressed her deep union with Christ, transforming her into a woman wholly dedicated to the mission of the Church.

On this August 27, we renew our commitment to live our missionary vocation with fidelity and creativity, embracing pastoral transformation and reconciliation, rooted in Christ and open to the needs of our world.

May María Antonia’s “Yes” continue to inspire us to offer our lives, our prayer, and our mission for the transformation of the Church and the world.
