International Women’s Day

8 March 2021

The International Day of Women is celebrated on the 08th of March. This day has its roots in the labour movement of women, demanding their rights, in the era of the industrial revolution. In 1848 Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott of America maintained that  ‘all men and women were created equal.  Even today there are gender-based discriminations. 2.7 billion women cannot access the same job options as men. In 2019, only less than 25% of parliamentarians were women. Society cannot see liberation unless these discriminations are eliminated. So we have to celebrate the grandmothers, mothers, sisters and daughters of our society.

Below we share the prayer for this day:

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
