July 20 – In prayer for the election of the Superior General

20 July 2023

We begin this new day with the celebration of the Eucharist. We thank the Lord for giving us new strength and life.  In the morning session we go to our groups to discuss the question “What style of governance does the Congregation need to carry out the Project that is being developed?” It was done in an atmosphere and attitude of listening and dialogue. The work done in groups is presented by the secretaries to the assembly. At the end of the sharing, we approved to start the election period.

In the afternoon we opened the session with an illumination and orientation on the theme of discernment in elections by Fr. Francisco José Ruiz, SJ.  The animation team gave us instructions on how to handle the responses to the Survey that the sisters sent with the suggested candidates for the General Government.  We begin our period of discernment with an invocation to the Holy Spirit with the song “Come Holy Spirit.” In silence we enter prayer and personal reflection which will continue until tomorrow. We ask for the continued prayers of all our sisters and the Claretian family for the coming days as we prepare to elect a new Superior General and a new General Council.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
