“Synodality: A Renewed Call to the Prophecy of Hope.”

27 November 2023

This is the theme of the residential meeting held from 22 to 24 November 2023 at the “Fraterna Domus” House of Spirituality in Sacrofano (Rome), organized by the Executive Councils of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) and the Union of Superiors General (USG).

The event was attended by more than 250 Superiors General, including the Claretian family: our sister Priscilla and our brother Mathew. In the recurrence of the hundredth assembly of the USG, the first face-to-face assembly has been held in conjunction with the two Unions.

Starting from the echoes of the synodal experience and with the good practice of its method, the challenges of religious life in the contemporary world have been faced, setting the sights on promoting synodality as a way of life and being prophetic bearers of hope in today’s world.

The 23rd was sealed by the meeting of the Superiors General with Pope Francis. A deep, fraternal dialogue especially dedicated to the role of consecrated life in the current ecclesial moment.

The event represented a moment of hope and commitment for religious life, offering each one of us the opportunity to share ideas, discern together, and renew the commitment to create an ever more synodal Church.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
