Third World Day of the Poor

15 November 2019

This year it is celebrated on Sunday, November 17th, with the title “The hope of the poor shall not perish forever”. This sentence, chosen by Pope Francis and inspired by Psalm 9, offers us points of reflection and action to continue walking in a change of mentality that allows us to discover the essential, making effective the proclamation of the Kingdom of God.

We are all called to look into the eyes of the poor we meet, to share with them a piece of the path, to “get close” to each person in difficulty. Let us not lose the opportunity to commit ourselves to accompany the processes of dignification of our poorest brothers and become instruments and opportunities for peace, solidarity and the promotion of the dignity of every human being because, as the motto says, our commitment won’t be in vain.

We unite in communion with the universal Church and with the poor of the world who, as the Pope said, only need “a gaze of love and an outstretched hand”.

During these days, the text “María Antonia París, friend and companion in the journey” is being distributed.
